Facilities

Linda Palchick said that soccer has started, and will be finished on June 8, 2025. The graduation party is still scheduled for June 15, 2025.  Mayfield Village has requested park usage on July 9 for one day for summer camp.  Linda is waiting for their proof of o when being taken down.  Linda will check with Mayfield Village if they need the nets up.  New nets are needed.  Jason Abate will check their cost.  Discussion on purchasing 6 metal posts for doggie pots; approx. cost $120.00.

There was a problem with the path paving because the 4 ft paving machine was not available.  The additional 500ft of path is scheduled to be done on June 10-11.  Will also patch potholes in driveway.

Lengthy discussion of the baseball field condition.  More dirt is needed for the diamond; the field has not been dragged – which really needs to be done 3 times/week.  Pitcher mound needs dirt.  Dragging needs to be done each time.  Don’t know who Baseball Federation uses to drag the field this year.  Kelly contacted Jason Abate to bury a pitcher’s block and he was unable to do that.   No baseball schedule has been received yet for games to be played on our field.  Cost of dragging and field maintenance is the responsibility of the Baseball Federation.

Pickle Ball – Ed Curtis, Evan Byrum, Kirsten Foerster, and Sara Sustin made a presentation to Russell Township on this proposed project.  Topics included 2 Pickle ball courts to replace 1 or 2 volleyball courts?  Are there any grants for this project available? Estimated cost is 100K.  The presentation to Russell was timely because discussion of the 2026 Russell Township budget is on the Township agenda for next week.  Kirsten will contact Orange to see who they’ve used for their courts.  Chris Domonkos will contact Jerry Flescher concerning the cost of his newly installed courts.  Other questions include is any grant monies available for our project?  Concrete?  Asphalt? Any fencing costs? Can local companies be used for this proposed project?  Dimensions of this project at our park?

Evan Byrum motioned to accept the WGCJRD slate of officers for 2026:  President Greg Poe, Vice-President Rick Izant, Treasurer – Ed Curtis, Secretary – Linda Palchick.  Chris Domonkos seconded the motion to accept this slate; Vote was taken – Ed Curtis-yes; Chris Domonkos-yes; Kristen Foerster-yes; Rick Izant-yes; Sara Sustin-yes; Linda Palchick-yes; Greg Poe-yes Mark Vidmar-yes, Evan Byrum-yes.   All in favor, motion carried.

Linda Palchick motioned for meeting adjournment; Chris Domonkos seconded.  Vote was taken – Ed Curtis-yes; Chris Domonkos-yes; Kristen Foerster-yes; Rick Izant-yes; Sara Sustin-yes; Linda Palchick-yes; Greg Poe-yes, Mark Vidmar-yes, Evan Byrum-yes.  All in favor, motion carried.

Respectfully submitted,
