Playground donation received: Russell Township $5,000.

Facilities – Linda Palchick                                                                                                          Soccer is done, nets are down.  The soccer fields were closed for 3 weekends because of the weather.  The games were moved to the turf field.

Maintenance – John Gromek and Jason Abate

Jason Abate aerated the fields today.  There are holes in front of the soccer goals and they will be filled in with grindings. Previously the board decided to rest the upper soccer field in 2019.  Discussion at this meeting that the junior soccer field needed a rest more than #1 soccer field.  Strategy switched; the junior field will not be played on in 2019.

Walking trails are ok.  Walt Waetjen reported on the meeting with Donnelly on the final curve of the trail.  Suggestion to install 2 or 3 drainage ditches to drain towards the river; and raise the level of the path, gravel, then a coating on top of a permanent path.   The problem starts at the junior soccer field.  Discussion how to catch the water before it gets to the path. Capital monies will be used to grade a swale to redirect the water.

New Business

An article appeared in the newspapers that the Park Board needs a bond.  2 park board levies failed in the November 2018 election. Question: is a bond needed for the WGCJRB?  Bernie Mandel will check with the prosecutor’s office.

Our December 2018 regular monthly meeting will be held at Bass Lake Tavern.  Board members will need to respond as soon as possible so Walt Waetjen can submit the count.

Ed Curtis motioned for meeting adjournment at 7:35 pm.  John Gromek seconded.  Vote was taken:  Ed, yes; John, yes; Rick, yes; Bernie, yes; Linda, yes; Greg, yes; Walt, yes; All in favor, motion carried.

Respectfully submitted,
